Strengthening the Marriages & Families of NABC Coaches

For the 5,000 members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), basketball is much more than just a game – it’s a career…a passion…a way of life. Along with the glories that come with victory, basketball coaches also experience the stresses and demands that come with building a great team and keeping it on top.
Be passionate on and off the court.
With this in mind we have developed a partnership with the men and women of the NABC. The Great Marriage Experience will provide coaches across the country with practical, timely and relevant coaching and resources. These resources are aimed at helping the coaches of the NABC have the same passion for their marriage and families as they have for the great game of basketball.
This intentional focus is especially important given the unhealthy views on marriage, family and relationships that permeate our culture. Young people in particular today are bombarded with conflicting messages on everything from respect for authority to appropriate moral conduct. The benefits of a strong marriage can reach beyond the coach’s family by countering negative messages and impacting the lives of players and students. Because basketball coaches touch so many lives, they can positively model a great marriage and family to young people at a time in life when they are most impressionable. As a result, this initiative’s impact will be truly profound…not only on a coach's family but on the next generation as well.
Attention Coaches!
“One of my vivid memories as a coach was the stress it placed on Carol and my marriage. As I look back, I know my wife was an absolute saint. With all the extraordinary time demands for practices, office work, recruiting calls, travel and the very public life one lives, developing and maintaining a marriage is a daily challenge.”
