Disclosure Statement

America’s Family Coaches (AFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. All gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. AFC abides by the standards and management of donations defined by the nationally recognized oversight group, the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.

Designation of Gifts
All donations are considered to be unrestricted unless explicitly designated by the donor for a particular project or program. AFC will review gifts given by a ministry partner for an express, designated purpose to determine if the purpose can be achieved. If the gift is accepted, the funds will be used for the designated purpose.

Reassignment of Gifts
It is the position of America’s Family Coaches that any donation given in response to an appeal for a specified project or program will be used for that purpose. AFC will begin to put the funds to work on that specified project in a timely manner--normally within twelve months. In the event that the designated project is fully funded, delayed, or canceled, any excess funds will be reassigned to operational expenses or a ministry need most closely identifying with the project for which the funds were originally given.

With appeals for projects, America’s Family Coaches will seek to disclose this position on accompanying material and/or by referring donors to this section of the organization’s website.

Non-Cash Gifts
So funds can most quickly be used to benefit ministry programs, any non-cash donations such as gifts of stock or real estate will generally be liquidated at the first available opportunity. AFC will not hold non-cash gifts long-term nor seek to "time the market," but will liquidate them in a wise, thoughtful manner. Any and all resources necessary to the liquidation process should be marshaled by the donor to expedite the conversion of non-cash gifts to cash for ministry use. Gifts of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities will be sold immediately, often within three to five business days. Gifts of real property approved in advance by AFC will be turned over to appropriate brokers/agents for sale to a qualified buyer. Exceptions may be made by the Board and/or senior leadership as deemed appropriate and consistent with the overall mission of the organization.
